I’m sure you have heard words like domek, kotek, stoliczek, Dawidek many times! These are Polish diminutive forms . In Polish we use diminutives quite often, mostly to signalize the small size of an object but also to convey a sense of intimacy or friendliness. That is why you may hear them speaking with your Polish friends and family as well as in a shop or on the street.
